Community/Greater Orlando Region
The city of Orlando has a plethora of sights, sounds, and experiences to offer to both visitors as well as residents. Orlando, in one way or another, owes everything that it has to one man, Walt Disney. If not for Walt Disney, Orlando would not be renowned as a destination offering countless entertainment options, world-class sporting facilities, and fun for all ages. Without a doubt, this city and community has something to offer for everyone.

Before the 1970’s, Orlando used to be a quiet backcountry town full of orange groves. Florida’s main attractions were its beaches on both the East and West coasts, located within an hour’s drive of Central Florida. In nearly 40 years, it has grown into a expansive metropolis of over 2,000,000 residents, and many more visitors. It has everything ranging from the exciting theme parks of Disney, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios to peaceful nature activities such as hiking, cycling, and canoeing.
Orlando is located in Central Florida between I-75 and I-95 directly off of I-4, which was built to dissect the city. The city is accessible via Orlando International Airport which is conveniently located within 20 miles of most attractions and points of interest. Sanford International Airport may also be used as an alternative if arriving by air, especially from Europe. Orlando International services direct daily flights to and from most major cities in the United States and Canada as well as the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Central America. Orlando is also easily accessible from locations in South America and the rest of the world via Miami International Airport located in South Florida.

With its location, Orlando is fortunate to have a climate suitable for outdoor living 12 months of the year. Orlando has an average summer high of 92 degrees, and a winter climate that usually ranges between 65-80 degrees. If you would like to cool off from the sunshine, Orlando offers many shopping venues ranging from high end boutiques to great deals that can be found at the outlet malls.
If sport is your passion, Orlando has been fortunate to be surrounded with great sporting teams as well. The Orlando Magic basketball team has just recently built a brand new top of the line arena, while the Devil Rays (Major League Baseball) and Buccaneers (National Football League) are located in nearby Tampa, FL. The campus of the University of Central Florida offers college sports action at the NCAA Division I level. The Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball team also bases themselves at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex during their spring season training each year. Last but not least, Orlando is very well known for the many wonderful golf courses and tournaments it has and hosts annually. This includes the PGA Tour event “Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational” and the Tavistock Cup event featuring the professional tour players who live in the golf course communities of Lake Nona and Isleworth. Over 500 PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tour players call Orlando their home, including Tiger Woods, the number one golfer in the World.
If you are feeling festive, there are always seasonal events running at theme parks and quaint towns nearby. Of course, there are endless numbers of restaurants, hotels, and other entertainment venues including movies to keep you going in the evenings and on the weekends. In closing, Orlando is a tremendous place to live, work and to grow as a family. We invite you to visit our wonderful community!
