Where is the JGPA located?

The JGPA is located in Orlando, FL, only 20 minutes away from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) and minutes away from Disney World. Our headquarters for our golf academy is at Orange County National GC, for more information, please view www.ocngolf.com. Our academics including boarding will be hosted at one of the best private schools in the Orlando area, The Crenshaw School. You can find more information at www.crenshawschool.com.

What are age restrictions to enrolling in the academy?

The age for enrollment will range from age 11-18 from all over the world.

How do I schedule a visit?

You are encouraged to call the Junior Golf Performance Academy (JGPA) headquarters at (407) 905-2242 to schedule a visit. The average visit will take 3-4 hours which includes the prospective student having their golf game professionally evaluated by one of our GPIA Directors and a Crenshaw School visit.

What are admissions requirements?

Once the Academy has received your application it will be reviewed within one week. We are searching for students with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA, are goal oriented, hard working, and have a passion to become a better golfer. Students are encouraged to visit; your game will be professionally evaluated by one of our GPIA Directors and you will interview with admissions at the Crenshaw School.

Are International Students Issued an I-20?

International Students who will be attending high school at the Academy will be issued an I-20 through an attorney set up by the Crenshaw School. This is a separate payment that comes from the $3,000 escrow account once the academy deposit and Crenshaw School tuition are paid.

What payment options do I have?

Students and parents will be mailed a contract after students are admitted. A $5,000 deposit is due immediately and the remaining balance is due prior to the first day of golf and class, or the payment plan goes into effect. For full year students the tuition may be split into three payments (with a minimal finance charge). First payment is due July 15th, second is November 15th and final payment is due February 15th, 2011.

Are scholarships offered?

Yes, the first (12) 2010 full time boarding or commuter students will receive a $2,500 scholarship; this scholarship is renewed automatically for each year that the client stays in the program. Please contact the JGPA office at (407) 905-2242 if you have any questions regarding scholarships.

Who will be my golf instructor?

This is one of the most advantageous parts of the JGPA. Every student will spend an equal amount of time with our entire team. Yes, this includes the day to day involvement of our President & Academy Director, Director of Instruction and all other members of our successful team. This will never waiver, which is why we have a maximum of 60 students we will limit to attending the academy. Personal attention is our #1 goal.

Residential Instructors are full time employees of GPIA or the Crenshaw School. Many of them have a background in education, counseling, or golf. Applicants go through a strict screening process and background check. Students are placed in housing by age. Residential Instructors monitor study sessions and communicate with the parents on a regular basis.

Where do students fly?

Do you play golf during the week on the course?

Yes, we have scheduled (2) rounds of golf each week included in the tuition. You may also play on your day off if you so choose, which is designated for Sunday, unless you are playing in a tournament that weekend.

Do you provide written evaluations?

Another major difference to our company is that we will provide a written report to every student using our very own Personal Golf Reflection which will be sent home as a progress report for the parents. The report will be offered to the student and parents on a bi-weekly basis.

Do I play in tournaments during the year? How many of them?

Students play on our very own, Pukka Junior Golf Tour throughout the year as well as other junior tour events. The Pukka Junior Golf Tour will host (2) nationally ranked tournaments every month during the weekends. This gives the parents an opportunity to watch their children in competition. Our team of coaches will create a tournament schedule for every student catering to what their competitive goals are in golf.
